Your Target Market – Are You Serving Your Audience Well?

Once you have identified who your target audience is, you must then find out what they want. You notice I did not say what they need, because people will not search for what they need, or someone else’s perception of what they need, nearly as much as they will go out of their way to find what they want.

My target audience is learning how to write eBooks, set up blogs, promote affiliate products, write articles, use social networking sites (Twitter and Facebook predominantly), and set up websites with opt-in pages and sales letters. I know what they need, but I let them tell me what they want instead.

The result is that I am now incorporating webinars into my online teaching, instead of using teleseminars exclusively. My people said they wanted to ’see’ me using the technology they are struggling to learn, so that is exactly what I am doing. We’ve been doing a webinar every day, giving me the opportunity to perfect my webinar skills before taking it to my full audience. It is very exciting and worth every minute of the learning curve as I become a webinarian.

How can you stretch yourself to better serve your target market? What do they want from you? Be willing to move out of your comfort zone and give your audience exactly what they want.
