Syndicate Your Blog Content Using Web 2.0 Applications

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Even though it isn’t time for my Tuesday technology tip, I wanted to share this information with you. When you make a post to your blog these days, it is likely to appear in many more places than just on your blog. This is all thanks to the magic of syndication, which basically means that your content can be delivered to different sites in various places, giving you massive exposure all over the internet. Here are some ways for you to get started so that you can use the power of syndication to gain more visibility on the internet.

  • Accept the fact that Web 2.0 is a reality and here to stay. I like to define this phenomenon as the ability for people to finally be part of the conversation online, and to choose what information they want to receive, in contrast to interruption marketing, where we were all at the mercy of those who wanted to contact us without our permission.
  • Start an account on Twitter right away. Look for people who have similar interests to yours to follow in the beginning, and then see what happens.
  • Open up an account on Facebook. Here you will be able to (more…)

Repurpose Your Content For Greater Exposure And Time Management

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Repurposing your content allow you to take advantage of reaching many times the number of people you have have in the past. I usually begin by writing a blog post, such as this one, and then turning it into an article. The article is then submitted to the article directories. At this point my blog post is syndicated to Facebook (let’s be friends), and then I’m off to Twitter (follow me) for even wider distribution.

I continue to repurpose by holding a teleseminar on the exact same information, only now I can answer questions from the people on the call because I am using the best teleseminar service available. I also include this same content on my internet radio show (listen to a segment and favorite me, please), and again I reach an even wider audience of interested listeners. This is all done in the shortest amount of time possible.

Repurposing allows me to (more…)

How To Use Twitter To Import Your RSS Feed From EzineArticles

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Here is your Tuesday technology tip. I have quite a few articles over at EzineArticles. Today I went into my account over at FriendFeed and imported my RSS feed from EzineArticles into my Twitter account. It only takes a few minutes and gives your articles even more exposure when you share them with your followers on Twitter.

Sign up for an account at FriendFeed. Then go into your account settings and add your RSS feed from EzineArticles. It will be something like this:

http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Connie_Ragen_Green

That’s all there is to it. Every time you publish another article, the link will automatically go into your Twitter account.

How To Use Twitter To Build Your List And Gain Visibility

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

I will be holding a teleseminar on Jul9 9 to explain how I am using Twitter and Facebook successfully in my online business. While tweeting today I came across something I felt I had to share with all of you. Nikki Talmadge, one of the members of my marketing power team, made a ten minute video that explains exactly how to use all of the features on Twitter in clear and easy to understand language. Nikki is something of a online genius, and also wrote an eBook on how to hire a web designer.

If you are new to social networking and want to get started with tweeting on Twitter right away, watch this video from Nikki. She is having DNS problems right now (don’t worry if you don’t know what that means), so you can find her website at Internet Marketing For Artists. Then follow me on Twitter and you can see how powerful this really is. Be sure to sign up and you will get an invitation to my social media and networking free teleseminar.

How To Use FaceBook And Twitter To Build Your List

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

I have been, or continue to be a member of most of the social networking groups on the internet. Some have been helpful for awhile and then fizzle out. Others are a complete waste of your time, at least if you are attempting to connect with others who may have a common interest in what you are doing online.

FaceBook and Twitter are the ones that I am spending time with now. They both continue to help me in my pursuits, do not take much time, and are simple to use. I invite you to become my friend on FaceBook and follow me on Twitter. If you are not on my list already, be sure to sign up in the box on the right. I will be giiving a free teleseminar in the next two weeks about using FaceBook and Twitter. I will teach you how to spend less than three hours each week to get the most out of both of these social networking sites.

If you are writing articles or eBooks, using social media will help you to market to people all over the world.

Writing Your eBook, Blogging, and Web 2.0

Friday, April 18th, 2008

You may wonder why you should care about social networking, also referred to as part of Web 2.0, if you are writing an eBook, articles, or blogging. It turns out that working online is very similar to having a business offline - it’s all about building relationship with other people.

I am now part of the Facebook community, as well as having a presence on MySpace, Twitter, Ning, and several others. In the beginning it was confusing, so I signed up for a $20 class to have the experts explain it to me. The Facebook class with Mari Smith is still available here. The hours it has saved me have been well worth the $20. On Wednesday, April 23, The Blog Squad will interview Michele PW and Mary Pat Kavanagh on more Web 2.0 and social media information for those of us working online.

Sign up for either of these calls and I will give you a 30 minute telephone strategy session. No matter what your goals or your niche, I will help you to move to the next level.

Twitter - Join Me As I Twitter Along And Be My Friend On Facebook

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

After much research and hesitation, I am finally on Twitter. You can follow me by going to Twitter and signing up. I am also on Facebook. You can go there and become my friend if you want to see how it all works. I just found out that you can write your blog posts directly through Facebook. The link is here, but you need to register for an account at Facebook first. It is called BlogIt and is a great feature from the people over at SixApart.

All of this social networking will take some time to set up initially, but I am seeing an increase in visitors to my blog and people signing up for my weekly free teleseminars. Set a time limit for working on it each day, and stick to your schedule. I will continue to discuss this, along with all things web 2.0, on my technology teleseminars.

Build Your List and Increase Pagerank with Squidoo

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Do you Squidoo? If not, you are missing out on a great opportunity. Squidoo was started by marketer Seth Godin several years ago. At this free site you set up a page, called a ‘lens’, that relates to a specific topic. I set up a few of these lenses during the fall of 2007 and didn’t give it much more thought.

I now see that Squidoo is responsible for my page rank moving up in Google and that about one third of my list found me through my lens on Squidoo. Here is a book that can tell you everything you need to know. Another great thing about this book, which sells for under ten dollars, is that you can sell it to others to build up your list. Squidoo only takes about 30 minutes to set up for your topic and the benefits will last for years to come. I will talk more about this topic on my technology call tomorrow, Tuesday, February 26. Sign up in the box on the right and you will get the dial-in information in time for the call. There is no charge for this teleseminar.

Using Social Media And Social Networking To Market Your Ebook

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

If you think MySpace is just for kids, you probably haven’t been over there in awhile. The link back from MySpace to your website or blog is worth the time for you to set it up. Also check out Seth Godin’s Squidoo, where you can put up a “lens” on any topic you choose. This is another good link to have.

My favorite site is currently Facebook. If you want to learn everything there is to know about using Facebook as a social networking tool, sign up for Mari Smith’s free e-course. Mari has been doing business on the internet for years, and this course is sure to be thorough and informative. I have signed up as well, so I can learn more from Mari.

Your next stop should be Ning, where you can set up your own myspace type of page and even invite people to join you.

Be sure to include social media and networking to your marketing plan for getting the word out about your ebook.
